Looking toward 2027: design we want to live with

The most useful question for the year ahead may be this: will we still enjoy living with the decision after the excitement of choosing it has passed?

As we look toward 2027, Urban Hideaway® is focusing on design qualities that can earn a place in everyday life. This is our point of view on what deserves attention, rather than a prediction that every home or community will move in one direction.

Warmth with clarity. We are interested in spaces where texture, natural-looking tones and thoughtful lighting create comfort while the overall composition remains clear. Warmth does not require a room to feel crowded. It comes from how the elements relate to each other.

Outdoor spaces with a purpose. A home or community needs more than square footage. Shade, seating, privacy and a useful connection to the interior can give it a role in the day. The design question is what someone will actually do there—and what makes that comfortable.

Practical beauty. Storage, circulation and places for daily routines deserve deliberate design. When the practical parts of a home work well, the beautiful parts have room to be enjoyed. We want those priorities developed together from the start.

A recognizable sense of place. A small community can have an identity expressed through its landscape, materials, gathering spaces and relationship to its surroundings. That identity should help people understand where they are and feel comfortable being there.

The year will bring new products, palettes and ideas. Our filter stays consistent: choose what strengthens the experience, supports daily life and belongs to the place we are creating.
